Tennessee’s only woman on death row refuses last meal before execution

Christa Pike, the sole woman on death row in Tennessee, is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection on Wednesday. Ahead of the execution, Pike has declined to select a last meal.

If the execution proceeds as scheduled, it will mark the first time a woman has been put to death in Tennessee since at least 1820.
