Ecuador collects humanitarian aid for the victims of the earthquake in Colombia

Ecuador launched a humanitarian aid campaign on Wednesday, August 12, to assist victims of a 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck southwestern Colombia two days prior. Collection centers have been established in the provinces of Pichincha and Guayas to receive supplies for those affected by the disaster.

In Colombia, the government has introduced tax incentives for corporations participating in relief efforts. Businesses that donate through authorized entities and provide valid certification may be eligible for a corporate income tax deduction of up to 37 percent.
