Tesla and others begin record vehicle recall in China

Tesla and other automakers have initiated a record vehicle recall in China. The action coincides with a regulatory announcement by Chinese authorities stating that concealed door handles will be banned starting in 2027.

With this upcoming phase-out, China becomes the first country to prohibit the design. The feature was popularized by Tesla and has since been widely adopted by domestic Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers.
