NewzDAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) President Wallace Karia has announced that clubs which refuse to use designated dressing rooms without valid reasons will face a five-point deduction starting next season. Speaking to journalists in Dar es Salaam, Karia said the federation has strengthened its regulations governing the use of dressing rooms by introducing modern equipment capable of detecting the presence of hazardous gases or harmful chemicals. He said the new measure is intended to eliminate baseless complaints and ensure that decisions concerning player safety are based on scientific evidence.
According to Karia, if a team refuses to use a dressing room and an inspection confirms that there are no hazardous gases or harmful substances present, the club will automatically lose five league points in accordance with TFF regulations. If a team refuses to enter a dressing room, we will carry out an inspection, and if we confirm that it is safe, that team will be deducted five points,” Karia said.
He stressed that beginning next season, clubs will no longer be allowed to reject the use of dressing rooms without legitimate safety concerns, adding that the federation expects the use of the new technology to improve transparency and strengthen the management of football competitions. The move is part of TFF’s broader efforts to improve league administration and ensure competition rules are enforced fairly while maintaining appropriate safety standards.
