Why Nepal’s green ‘miracle house’ survived monster flood

A green-painted house in Nepal’s Nuwakot district has remained largely intact following severe flooding along the Trishuli River. While the surrounding area suffered significant destruction, with floodwaters sweeping away vehicles and other buildings, the residence provided safety for the Pyakurel family throughout the disaster.

The structure has since become a focal point for the public, drawing visitors who arrive to photograph the site. The house stands as a notable contrast to the widespread damage caused by the rampaging waters, serving as a prominent visual symbol of the recent flooding event.
