The moment Clark Laidlaw knew Canes had to sign Semisi Tupou Ta’eiloa

Hurricanes head coach Clark Laidlaw has confirmed the signing of Semisi Tupou Ta’eiloa, citing the player's long-term potential as the primary motivation for the recruitment. The decision to secure Ta’eiloa follows a period of roster adjustments for the franchise.

The signing coincides with the departure of Ardie Savea, who has committed to the Blues. Laidlaw indicated that the strategic focus on developing emerging talent like Ta’eiloa is central to the team's future planning.
