Thinking Machines Lab co-founder Barret Zoph joins Google

Barret Zoph, a co-founder of the artificial intelligence startup Thinking Machines Lab, is joining Alphabet-owned Google DeepMind as Vice President of Research. Zoph announced the move on Wednesday.

Prior to his role at Thinking Machines Lab, Zoph served as Vice President of Research at OpenAI. His transition to Google DeepMind marks a high-profile leadership shift within the competitive artificial intelligence sector.
