TNCC , Nigeria ACCI sign MoU to broaden ties in trade , investment , private sector development

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania National Chamber of Commerce (TNCC) and the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and private sector development. The agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Dar es Salaam Chamber of Commerce under TNCC, Denis Chacha, on behalf of TNCC, and the President of ACCI, Obegolu Emeka Jude Phillipe, during the Tanzania-Abuja Business Forum held in Dar es Salaam. The forum brought together business leaders and government representatives from Tanzania and Nigeria to explore opportunities for expanding commercial cooperation and promoting stronger business-to-business partnerships.

Leading the Nigerian delegation, Mr Phillipe stressed the need for greater private sector engagement between the two countries, saying stronger business partnerships would help unlock new opportunities for trade and investment. ALSO READ: Govt pledges stronger support for private sector in agriculture Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador John Ulanga reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing economic diplomacy by creating a conducive environment for trade and investment. He said the partnership would help facilitate business exchanges, investment promotion and knowledge sharing between the private sectors of Tanzania and Nigeria.

Closing the forum, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Selestine Gervas Kakele, welcomed the signing of the MoU, describing it as an important milestone in efforts to deepen commercial relations between the two countries. He said the agreement would help create new opportunities for businesses in Tanzania and Nigeria while strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
