Toronto police officer shot while responding to stolen e-bike call overnight

A Toronto police officer was shot and seriously injured early Thursday morning while responding to a call regarding a stolen e-bike. The incident occurred near the intersection of Bloor and Sherbourne streets shortly before 3:30 a.m. as officers were investigating the reported theft.

Following the shooting, police located the suspect, who has since been arrested. Authorities confirmed that the officer was engaged in the investigation when they were fired upon by the individual involved in the e-bike incident.
