This is no longer a distant vision. It is the reality of the twenty-first century. Across the world, digital technologies are transforming the way people learn, teach, communicate, innovate and work.
Education systems are evolving to prepare learners for a future driven by knowledge, technology and innovation. As countries embrace digital transformation, Digital Learning has become one of the most important investments for building a competitive, inclusive and knowledge-based society. For Tanzania, this transformation presents an opportunity to prepare present and future generations with the competencies required to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
It also supports the country’s long-term aspiration of becoming a prosperous, innovative and globally competitive nation under the Tanzania Development Vision 2050. Recognising the importance of this transformation, the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania continues to strengthen the education sector through investments in digital infrastructure, innovation, science and technology. These efforts are creating an enabling environment for expanding digital learning across the country.
Supporting these national efforts is the UNESCO National Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania, which serves as the government’s principal coordinating body for UNESCO programmes.
