An art installation featuring 320 mini sculptures of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Salzburg, Austria, has been forced to close 20 days ahead of schedule. The exhibition, organized by the Mozarteum to mark the 270th anniversary of the composer's birth, was cut short after 210 of the miniature statues were stolen.

The widespread theft of the artwork has overwhelmed the event's organizers, turning what was intended as a celebratory cultural tribute into a security issue that necessitated the premature shutdown of the public display.
