Venezuela has updated its official death toll from the double earthquake that struck the country on June 24, raising the total to 6,125 fatalities.

The new figures were released on Monday by Jorge Rodríguez, the head of the National Assembly, following a ten-day period during which no official statistics were provided by authorities.
