Tensions have emerged within the governing coalition regarding the 2027 electoral process and the selection of state coordinators, signaling potential fractures between Morena, the Partido Verde Ecologista de México (PVEM), and the Partido del Trabajo (PT).

A Morena senator addressed the internal friction by stating that the PT is fully within its rights to leave the coalition if it chooses to do so. The remarks followed a decision by the PT to pause its participation in the internal selection process amid disputes over the methodology used.

In response to internal pressure within the 4T coalition, Morena official Ariadna Montiel announced on September 22 that the party will publicly release the polling results used to determine state coordinations. This move comes as aspirants and coalition partners press for greater transparency following complaints from the PT regarding 17 upcoming state elections.
