Tres mujeres dirigen por primera vez los tres poderes de la República de Costa Rica

For the first time in Costa Rican history, all three branches of government are led by women simultaneously. This milestone was reached on October 26 following the election of magistrate Patricia Vargas as the president of the Supreme Court of Justice.

The appointment of Vargas completes the female leadership across the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. This event marks a significant shift in the nation's political landscape, as women now hold the top positions within each of the three powers of the Republic.
