Afghan women are asking Spain for more humanitarian and student visas and easier access to credential validation.

Afghan women evacuated by the Spanish government following the Taliban's takeover of Kabul on August 15, 2021, are requesting additional humanitarian and study visas from Spain. The group is also seeking improved administrative support to facilitate the validation of their academic and professional credentials.

Since their arrival in Spain, these women have faced significant integration hurdles. Specifically, the process of certifying foreign degrees and the necessity of learning the Spanish language have been identified as the primary obstacles to their professional and social resettlement.
