“Legal outrage,” Somos México accuses after court ruling to change its identity

The Superior Chamber of the Federal Electoral Tribunal (TEPJF) in Mexico has issued a final ruling requiring the political party Somos México to modify its official name, emblem, and colors. The party is mandated to complete these changes by August 31. The court reached this decision based on legal reasoning that differed from previous lower-court considerations.

In response to the ruling, leadership from Somos México has labeled the decision a "legal outrage" (atropello jurídico). The party contends that the order is an grievance, noting that it originally secured its official registration using the identity that the tribunal is now requiring them to abandon.
