“In line with established emergency response protocols, the LASEMA Response Team, in collaboration with the LRU Paramedics, officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, and officers of the Nigeria Police Force, who were all present at the scene, professionally managed the situation. The remains of the deceased were recovered, bagged with dignity by the Agency’s responders, and handed over to family members present at the scene in accordance with best practices. “For safety and to prevent further gridlock, the affected tipper truck and motorcycle were subsequently moved off the carriageway and taken to Ilasamaja Police Station for further investigation.

“The operation has been concluded and all responders have returned to base while normal traffic flow has been restored in the area.” The Permanent Secretary commiserated with the family of the deceased and appealed to motorists, particularly drivers of articulated vehicles, to exercise caution, observe traffic regulations and avoid reckless driving, in order to prevent avoidable loss of lives on the road. The Permanent Secretary said LASEMA responders, working with the agency’s LRU paramedics, officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, managed the scene.
