President Donald Trump announced that the United States government will send a one-time $90 payment to more than 20 million Americans enrolled in Medicare. The funds are scheduled to be distributed in early October.

According to the administration, the financial assistance is intended to help offset the cost of monthly insurance premiums for elderly participants in the federal healthcare program.
