The remains of the medieval Bulgarian ruler Tsar Samuel have been interred in the capital city of Sofia. The repatriation of the remains followed a long-standing diplomatic process involving negotiations with Greek authorities, which ultimately resulted in a reciprocal exchange involving historical religious artifacts.
