Twelve Britons are among travellers unaccounted for after the flood on Nepal's border

Following a flash flood and landslides on Wednesday along the border corridor between Nepal and Tibet, dozens of British citizens are reported missing or unaccounted for among a wider group of over 400 travelers. Nepali authorities have been unable to contact these individuals, placing them on a provisional list of missing persons.

Discrepancies in the reported figures exist between different regional accounts of the disaster. While one report indicates that 33 British citizens—including a 13-year-old girl—are missing as part of the broader group of more than 400 unaccounted-for travelers, another provisional list released by the country's tourism board specifies that twelve British nationals are among those currently unreachable.
