Two die as firefighting helicopters collide in Greece, French blaze changes course

On Sunday, a collision involving two firefighting helicopters occurred in Greece near Agios Konstantinos while the aircraft were assisting in the control of a major wildfire northwest of Athens. The incident resulted in two fatalities.

The wildfire northwest of Athens has destroyed more than 100 homes, prompting ongoing emergency response efforts. Concurrently, residents and visitors were forced to flee another blaze on the tourist island of Kefalonia.

Separately, a large fire in France experienced a change in course as firefighting operations continued across multiple regions.
