Two killed in wrong-way crash on I-270 in Montgomery County

Two people are dead and another one is injured after a head-on crash in Montgomery County, Maryland, Saturday night. Police said they got a call just after 6:45 p.m. to go to the area of southbound I-270, south of Democracy Boulevard, for a report of a crash.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford Mustang was going in the wrong direction on I-270 and hit a Toyota Sedan head-on. Police said two passengers inside the Toyota were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead, while the driver of the Ford was taken to a hospital for treatment. As a result, two southbound lanes on the I-270 spur are closed, according to the Maryland State Highway Association.
