Uber ordered to pay $40M over death of woman left on Southern California freeway

Uber has agreed to a $40 million settlement with the parents of 23-year-old Emily Normandin-Parker. The settlement follows a fatal incident in August 2023, during which Normandin-Parker was struck and killed by a vehicle on a California freeway after an Uber driver ordered her and a friend to exit his car.
