Ukraine paid tribute to the "soul collector" who died recovering war corpses

Ukraine held a memorial service on Saturday for Oleksiy Yukov, a 40-year-old volunteer who died while recovering the remains of those killed in the ongoing conflict. The ceremony took place at an Orthodox cathedral, honoring his life and work.

For over two decades, Yukov dedicated himself to the recovery of bodies from war zones. His efforts included the retrieval of both Ukrainian civilians and soldiers, as well as the remains of Russian combatants, throughout the duration of the conflict.
