A massive fire has destroyed a hardware store in Huaral, while explosions and thick smoke have residents on alert.

On Tuesday afternoon in Santa Lucía del Camino, Oaxaca, a man armed with a machete held a woman hostage, threatening her by placing the weapon against her neck in a public space. Local municipal police intervened to secure the woman's safety and successfully apprehended the suspect.

During the rescue, the victim requested that officers refrain from striking the assailant. The incident concluded with the suspect in custody and the woman placed under police protection.
