The Las Peñas de Riglos (Huesca) fire has ravaged 17,500 hectares and faces a decisive day after claiming the life of a member of the UME (Military Emergency Unit).

Firefighting crews in Las Peñas de Riglos, Huesca, reported productive progress overnight on August 17 following rainfall that assisted containment efforts. The fire, which began the previous Monday, remains under management despite challenges posed by the terrain.

Separately, in Lleida, a fire resulted in the partial collapse of an eight-unit residential building. The structural failure affected the first three floors of the property. Authorities confirmed that no injuries occurred, as all fifteen residents were successfully evacuated.
