Un tribunal japonés invalida la elección de un alcalde porque le votaron con un apodo

A Japanese court invalidated the mayoral election in the coastal town of Kamisu on Thursday. The ruling followed the discovery that two ballots cast in favor of the winning candidate used the names of candy shops instead of his legal name.

Under Japanese electoral regulations, the inclusion of these irregular ballots prompted the legal challenge. The court determined that the use of nicknames or business names rendered the votes invalid, leading to the nullification of the election results.
