A team from Santa Clara University has launched an artificial intelligence assistant designed to locate approximately 100,000 pieces of art that remain missing following the Nazi era. Between 1933 and 1945, the Nazi regime seized or coerced the sale of roughly 650,000 artworks, leaving a significant portion of cultural heritage unaccounted for decades later.

Separately, the Russian judicial system has formally classified mid-20th-century Ukrainian nationalist figures, including Stepán Bandera, Román Shujevich, and Andriy Melnik, as accomplices to Nazi war crimes. This legal determination by Moscow links these historical figures directly to the atrocities committed by the German Nazi regime during the same period.
