UNRWA alleges Israel takeover of agency buildings in East Jerusalem

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has accused Israeli authorities of seizing agency buildings located in East Jerusalem. The allegations center on the status and control of these facilities, which have become a point of contention between the international agency and local municipal officials.

In response to the allegations, the Jerusalem Municipality stated that the structures in question are not UNRWA-owned properties. According to the municipality, the buildings are privately owned and were occupied by the agency under a usage agreement, a claim that challenges the characterization of the event as an unauthorized takeover.
