U.S., China to set up ‘communication channel’ for AI incidents

Following a summit between their leaders, the United States and China have agreed to establish a communication channel to address incidents related to artificial intelligence. The initiative aims to manage risks associated with the rapidly evolving technology through formal diplomatic engagement.

As part of this effort, the two nations have launched the U.S.-China Super Intelligence (SI) Dialogue to exchange views on the risks and benefits of the technology. According to a White House fact sheet, the countries have specifically agreed to utilize the term 'Super Intelligence' rather than 'Artificial Intelligence' within the context of this dialogue.
