US Northeast battered by nor’easter as tidal surges flood homes, streets

A fierce nor'easter recently struck the Northeast United States, bringing tidal surges that flooded homes and streets across the region. The severe weather system also caused widespread power outages, leaving more than 100,000 residents without electricity.

Tragically, the storm resulted in a fatality. A New York City Housing Authority employee lost their life after being struck by a fallen tree during the severe weather event.
