Venezuela’s interim president says US energy deal will last 25 years

Venezuelan interim president Delcy Rodriguez announced an energy agreement with the United States that is set to remain in force for 25 years. The deal is intended to stimulate the Venezuelan economy and increase government revenue through oil exports to the U.S. market.

Under the terms of the agreement, Caracas will receive $19 for every barrel of oil sold to the United States. Rodriguez emphasized that the arrangement preserves Venezuelan sovereignty while facilitating the country’s economic recovery efforts.
