Venezuela’s quake death toll surpasses 6,500

The death toll from the powerful twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela two months ago has surpassed 6,500, according to an announcement by the country's interim government on Monday.

Recovery efforts are currently ongoing in La Guaira to pull bodies from the rubble. Meanwhile, thousands of residents left homeless by the disaster continue to live in makeshift camps in the area.
