Veteran mountaineer Purja’s body found three days after avalanche on Broad Peak in PoK

The body of veteran mountaineer Nirmal Purja, known as 'Nims Dai', has been found following an avalanche on Broad Peak in PoK. According to the Alpine Club of Pakistan, a ground rescue team reached Purja's location at approximately 5,700 meters, where three additional bodies were also sighted, though their identities remain unconfirmed.

While initial reports cited the recovery of Purja's body alongside three others recovered on Friday amid weather disruptions, subsequent accounts indicate that ten climbers in total died in the avalanche. Search and recovery efforts are ongoing for the remaining bodies.

The Alpine Club of Pakistan has acknowledged the incident as an immeasurable loss to the mountaineering community.
