Vienna to let families keep full-day kindergarten places after job loss or during parental leave

Starting in September, Vienna is relaxing rules for families using municipal kindergartens, allowing them to keep full-day kindergarten places even if a parent experiences a job loss or enters parental leave.

Previously, changes in a parent's employment situation could result in a reduction of a child's attendance hours at the city's childcare facilities. The policy update ensures that children can maintain their full-day placements regardless of these shifts in employment status.
