Vietnamese coffee farmers ride China's durian wave

Vietnamese coffee farmers are increasingly diversifying their agricultural output by transitioning to durian cultivation to meet rising demand in China. This shift follows a 2022 trade protocol that officially opened the Chinese market to Vietnamese durian exports.

Since the implementation of the trade agreement, Vietnam has rapidly expanded its market share. By the end of last year, the nation had surpassed other regional competitors to become the largest supplier of durian to China by volume.
