Vietnamese coffee farmers ride China’s durian wave

Vietnamese coffee farmers have increasingly shifted toward cultivating durian to capitalize on surging demand from China, transforming the nation's agricultural landscape.

Over the past decade, the area dedicated to growing durian in Vietnam has expanded more than fivefold, reaching 200,000 hectares nationwide. This pivot occurs as the country maintains its position as the world's second-largest coffee producer, trailing only Brazil.
