Psychological violence accounts for 45.44% of the cases of women receiving assistance registered in 2026 in El Salvador, according to the Attorney General's Office.

During the first five months of 2026, the Procuraduría General de la República in El Salvador registered 26,357 total services provided to women at the national level. Out of these, 11,860 cases involved women seeking assistance for situations of domestic violence.

Psychological violence constituted the largest share of these cases, concentrating 45.44% of the total attention provided to women by the institution during the specified period.
