Vivas conveys to European institutions the "difficult" situation of Ceuta due to the crisis

Juan Jesús Vivas, President of the Autonomous City of Ceuta, is conducting a two-day visit to Brussels starting September 8, 2026, to address the European Union regarding the city's current crisis. Vivas is scheduled to hold meetings with key European officials, including European People's Party President Manfred Weber, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, and European Commissioners Dubravka Suica and Magnus Brun.

The diplomatic mission aims to highlight the difficult situation facing Ceuta following a mass influx of approximately 80,000 individuals from Morocco that occurred on July 30 and 31. The discussions are intended to bring the regional crisis to the attention of European institutions to address the ongoing impact of these events.
