Carney says US trying to break Canada amid vote for Alberta independence referendum

The oil-rich province of Alberta will vote to decide if it wants to remain a Canadian province or start the legal process toward separation. Carney warned that the US was trying the divide-and-rule tactic. Carney spoke at a Forever Canadian rally ahead of Monday's referendum on the whether the province should stay in Confederation or hold a second, binding referendum on separation.
