Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, acting as the disaster management coordinator, presented a water immersion methodology aimed at resolving forest and land fires (karhutla) in South Kalimantan. The announcement was made during an event in Banjarbaru.

The initiative forms part of a broader permanent strategy supported by the Ministry to address recurrent forest and land fires in the region.
