Washington state fires destroy hundreds of buildings and force Spokane-area residents to evacuate

Over the weekend, wildfires erupted across a parched landscape in eastern Washington state, destroying hundreds of buildings and forcing residents in the Spokane area to evacuate.

Following the disaster, some residents have begun returning to the affected neighborhoods, where they found their homes completely leveled by the fires.
