West Virginia family donates 47 acres, expanding state park by about 13%

A West Virginia family has donated 47 acres of land to Audra State Park, resulting in a roughly 13 percent expansion of the park's total area. The donation was made to commemorate the legacy of Victor Thacker’s great-great-grandparents, Jacob and Sarah Thacker.

In addition to increasing the park's overall acreage, the land acquisition enriches the local landscape and provides new opportunities for future trail development within the park, according to park officials.
