More than three dozen beaches are closed or posted across Massachusetts on Friday, July 24, including several South Coast beaches affected by sewer overflow events.High bacteria levels account for most of the advisories, according to the state’s interactive beach water quality dashboard. The latest list also includes two inland beaches posted because of harmful cyanobacteria blooms, one in Worcester and another in Oxford. Data from the state dashboard show 38 beaches with active closures or postings statewide.
