Rohingya refugees rally in Bangladesh camps to demand safe return to Myanmar

Tens of thousands of Rohingya refugees living in dozens of camps in Bangladesh held a rally on Tuesday to demand a safe return to their home state in Myanmar. The demonstration marked nine years since the refugees fled a violent government crackdown in Myanmar that forced them across the border.

While repatriation has returned to the international focus, ongoing violence in Myanmar's Rakhine state continues to prevent the refugees from safely going back to their homeland, keeping the displaced population confined to camps in Bangladesh.
