NewzWingy Danejah had no shortage of writing material prior to production on Agape Love, his eighth album. His emotions flowed into most of its songs which he said was one of his objectives. Agape Love, which is produced by Kent Murphy, was released on July 17 by the artiste’s Danejah Boy Records.
“The most satisfying part of creating Agape Love was being able to turn some of the most difficult moments of my life into music that can bring hope and healing to others,” said Wingy Danejah. It reflects my pain, my growth, my faith, and my relationship with God. Knowing that someone may hear these songs and realise they’re not alone is the greatest reward.” One of the album’s most personal tracks is Letter From A Broken Heart, a poignant reflection on a failed relationship.
Wingy Danejah’s Christian faith is the focus of God’s Plan and What The World Needs, other songs from Agape Love. Like most of the songs he has recorded since becoming a Christian over 30 years ago, Agape Love is driven by dancehall, reggae and pop rhythms. He noted that this approach does not guarantee mainstream airplay.
“Traditional media can sometimes be hesitant to embrace new artistes or music that doesn’t fit into a familiar mold.
