Negeri Sembilan Amanah chief MK Ibrahim Abd Rahman said PH is unfazed by PN’s directive to its supporters to vote for BN candidates in seats it is not contesting. (Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA: A Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan leader is confident the majority of voters will back the coalition in the state election on Aug 1 despite Perikatan Nasional’s call for its supporters to vote for Barisan Nasional in seats it is not contesting. Negeri Sembilan Amanah chief MK Ibrahim Abd Rahman said the coalition is unfazed by PN’s directive, as discerning voters would be able to recognise the PH-led state government’s achievements since 2018.

Ibrahim said the state government’s track record would prevent BN and PN from coming to power. “PN’s supporters may do as they’re told, but Negeri Sembilan voters are wise enough. Fence sitters will also take into account the performance of menteri besar Aminuddin Harun’s administration,” he told FMT.

PN has directed its members and supporters to vote for BN candidates in the 25 seats the coalition is not contesting. PN secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said members of PN component parties must follow the directive from the coalition’s top leadership to ensure the success of the BN-PN alliance in forming the state government. The directive came after BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi instructed BN members and supporters to vote for PN candidates in the 11 seats contested by the coalition in the state election.

The opposition coalition issued a similar directive in the Johor state election, which BN won decisively.
