ST JAMES, Jamaica — A man is said to be in hospital after ingesting what appeared to be a poisonous substance while his wife is dead from chop wounds. Reports are that the St James police are now investigating a case of suspected murder and attempted suicide in the Greens community of Norwood. The name of the deceased woman has not yet been disclosed.
The condition of the man has not yet been ascertained. It is alleged that there was an altercation between the couple about 10:00am on Wednesday, which resulted in the woman sustaining several chop wounds, which proved fatal. According to unconfirmed reports, the couple have been going through divorce proceedings and it seems things took a turn for the worse.
