Zambia’s maize reserves hit record 3.1 million tonnes

The Zambian Food Reserve Agency (FRA) has announced that national maize reserves have reached a record high of 3.1 million tonnes. This volume represents the largest stockpile of the grain in the country's history.

Executive Director Justin Chuunka stated that this accumulation of reserves places Zambia in a position of being beyond secure regarding its national food supply. The announcement marks a significant milestone for the country's strategic food security efforts.
