Zanzibar fast-tracks seaweed factory

Zanzibar’s Second Vice-President, Hemed Suleiman Abdulla, has issued a directive to accelerate the construction of a seaweed processing factory located in Chamanangwe, Wete District, North Pemba. The initiative aims to expedite the facility's completion to support local agricultural infrastructure.

The government intends for the new factory to establish a reliable market for seaweed farmers. This project is part of a broader effort to revitalize the seaweed sector within the region.
